Seville port authority has approved the concession of a land plot at its logistics zone to US e-commerce giant Amazon.
The 35-year concession is for a land plot of 35,324 square metres to be used for the construction of a 9,000 square metre building, including a warehouse and an office area.
Amazon is expected to invest €5 million ($5.7 million) in the project.

“The arrival of Amazon indicates a firm commitment to private investment due to the logistic advantages of the Port of Seville, whose strengths are the high availability of land, multimodality and privileged location near the urban centre and very close to the end customer,” the president of the port authority, Manuel Gracia, has said.
