Andreia Ventura said, “for AOPL, the interests of the port operators it represents should be defended, taking into account the economic and social relevance of the port of Lisbon, since its influence and direct and indirect economic impacts are not only local in scope, but also regional and national”.

“Within the scope of partnerships and understandings, AOPL wants to foster dialogue with all stakeholders in the port of Lisbon, from the Government, through the Ministry of the Sea, and the APL (Administração do Porto de Lisboa), to all entities with interests in this area, namely all municipalities within the area of jurisdiction of the Port of Lisbon, such as the Lisbon City Council”, adds the new AOPL president.
According to an AOPL communiqué, among the priorities of the new direction that motivated the alignment of the various operators, stand out axes, such as bet on the development of the port of Lisbon and enhance the economic value of its geostrategic location for the city, region and for Portugal and to ensure the competitiveness and competition of the port of Lisbon, in particular by renegotiating the terms of the public service concessions for cargo handling.
