Huelva port promoted its competitive advantage in short sea shipping at a conference in Huelva, organized by the Spanish Association for the Promotion of Short Sea Shipping.
The event is part of the programme of road transport training support of the Ministry of Public Works. The objective is the promotion between carriers and shippers of the advantages of the short sea shipping as an alternative to land transport, Huelva port authority said.
The president of the port authority, José Luis Ramos, stressed that "we are at a key moment to look at the sea as an alternative to the transport of cargo" and added that "the Port of Huelva has the adequate infrastructures to offer the best, efficient, effective and integral service for our clients".
During the meeting, the head of the commercial department of the port of Huelva, Manuel Vega, presented the services offered by the port to the representatives of the short sea shipping sector, explaining their current situation regarding infrastructures and strategy, as well as the conclusions on the study for the potential launch of motorways of the sea with Casablanca.
