New terminal operator Yilport Oslo has focused on the continued development and expansion of the SCT Terminal and positioning Oslo to better compete in the region. The positive changes are starting to pay dividends. Despite the difficulties in various European and Global economies, Oslo is experiencing an increase in interest from Lines wishing to call the port with new services.

Golden Sea Shipping, operator of the new service and on behalf of China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. (CSCL), has deployed the 1025 TEU vessel that is set to call Oslo and Rotterdam weekly.

Harald Bye, the General Manager for Dasena Agencies AS, CSCL’s agency in Norway states “We are very excited to see such engagement and commitment from our principal, CSCL, side towards the Norwegian market. Since Dasena Agencies took over the Norwegian agency of CSCL about two years ago, our principal have experienced a very positive development in their volumes in/out of Norway, and their customer base in Norway.”

With the introduction of this feeder service we are confident that we will continue the ongoing growth of CSCL's market shares in Norway. In additional to CSCL, COSCO and Yang Ming Line will have slots on the new service.
The new services first call in Oslo is planned for 07:00 on Thursday the 9th of July.
